diGNIty oF LAbouR

No lie its utterly difficult adjusting to life as a full-time civil servant. Getting to wake up early to either join Dudu, or Lady Unamma just to save a couple of Naira. This life is not acceptable at all. That is ‘harshness’ simplified. Also to buttress the writers point, we have to admit the real truth which is that work is boring; the color on the wall remains the same, so whether it is June, July or even May the wall doesn’t change, that one is calendar’s business. It is worthy of print to note that Hanging-out-late is a priority of the writer. Now a balance has to be struck because the writer has to ‘ball’ also most annoyingly important needs to get to work.
Striking a balance entails either forgoing trips to fulfill official matter which will annoy street, or locking-up on office and granting the request and pressure of ‘spalding’. The ability to strike a balance in life can help facilitate every hustle. One has to balance life constantly on a scale. Every intended act or omission has to be well considered.
The writer is aware of the fact that early to bed is early to rise, as a recent American university study shows that those who sleep early, rise to be happier than the others; but the reality is the writer got home at 12a.m and couldn’t sleep till 1.30a.m (due to think-think) and woke up by 6a.m to tidy domestic, now that is detrimental to body and hustle. Because eyes are red, and water is emitting from eyes which is signaling lack of sleep. Which takes the writer back to the first line above in this write-up, which is difficulty adjusting to life as a full-time civil servant. (mscheeeew, common corper)
The dress-code alone is wahala; all these excess corporate sef is problematic, as tie and suit are not friends of the writer. In the end the English is should one disrespect work in the general meaning of work for acts not truly productive?
The writer believes there is need to show dignity and respect to anything that provides chao on the table, that affords fuel in tank, that addresses recharge-card matters or that which pays for HARP; and basically do stuff that maximize production.
Thank you
